Accomplishments: Organized and stream-lined accounting processes, conversion of accounting/inventory system from Business Works to MAS90, un-covered embezzlement from prior Controller, led company to record profit years each year by controlling expenses while revenues increased.

Responsibilities: Report directly to owner; managed cash flow and excess cash investments, prepared monthly, quarterly and annual financials for four related companies, bi-weekly in-housepayroll, all aspects of human resources (recruiting, benefits administration, staff development), revenue recognition, supervise staff of eight.

Hollins Schechter, Santa Ana, CA

Director of Finance: For $9 million (30 attorney) law corporation

Accomplishments: Implemented numerous ideas to improve efficiency in billing dept., increase cash flow, increase revenues and decrease expenses, improved A/R turnover rate, shortened billing cycle by half. Developed meaningful management reports to measure productivity and profitability. Coordinated change in banking relations and 401(k) investment company.

Controller: For $15 million sporting goods corporation

Accomplishments: Successfully reduced corporate operating expenses 15%; reviewed and revamped accounting procedures resulting in 25% reduction of man hours; accurately projected expenses each year.

Responsibilities: Report directly to President; establish annual projections of financial statement, balance sheet and cash flow; prepare monthly interim financial statements; establish open-to-buys; computerize and maintain detailed depreciation schedules; maintained personnel records, including vacation and sick records, manage all benefits, supervise staff of five.
